Deck Power Wash Stain Seal Restoration
Deck Power Washing & Stain, Seal
At Wood Rehab we understand wood and know what can and can't be done to a deck, we also service fences.
Some companies will clean your deck with a 3200 psi power washer and not change the psi settings.
Cedar and Redwood (expensive woods) are very sensitive species. Power washing over a certain psi setting WILL harm the wood.
Wood fibers will peel & tear causing your wood to look like it has bristles like a pipe cleaner (felting). Once this happens the only solution is sanding the entire deck.
Wood pores will become compacted. Your wood will not breathe properly and will not allow stain to penetrate deep enough to protect your deck.
We will insure none of the above happens to you!
Other species of wood can take higher psi settings than Cedar & Redwood but they too can be damaged in the same way with a psi setting that is too high.
In most cases you do not need any chemicals to clean your deck.
***See attachments below to see what we can do without chemicals.
By avoiding chemicals you don't alter the natural PH levels in your wood, risk damage to nearby vegetation nor do you risk damaging your home's exterior coatings. In extreme cases you may need a wood brightener to prep a VERY dirty deck, this is rare.
This slide show above shows a deck before, during, after power washing and the final product
with no cleaning chemicals!
Wood Rehab does not force you to use a stain we provide.
We highly recommend that you buy your own stain for us to apply (*SEE NOTE AT BOTTOM OF THIS PARAGRAPH). Most companies buy stains in bulk 5 gallon cans and make a profit selling the stain. Unless they are constantly stirring the can during use both the protective chemicals and color consistency are being compromised. The same can may be used over several days on multiple jobs.
Buy your own and know the protective and color qualities are consistent. We can tell you what has worked for us in the past and explain to you why some stains are better than others. Some stains for example, claim to fight mildew & algae while being comprised of ingredients that are nothing more than food for mildew & algae. We will provide you with the information you need to make an educated purchase.
***See links at bottom to learn about stains/sealers.
(*This year we are including stain price in our quotations, up to a certain dollar amount per gallon. We will discuss the details in person. This change was based on client feedback; it's more convenient for most clients. This in no way limits your brand or color choices).
We feel our best advertising agent is a satisfied client. Our goal is to help you achieve your objective at a fair price with lasting results.

If you would like a rough estimate via email or phone please provide the square footage of your deck. Don't forget to measure steps.
Depth multiplied by width is your square footage.
We will also need to know how many linear feet of railing you have. Simply measure the total length of railing you have.
Know that your actual estimate (on site estimate) may be higher or lower than the rough estimate based on the condition of your deck and other variables.
